Royal Scientific Society (RSS) is the largest applied research institution in Jordan and one of the leading scientific and technological organizations in the Middle East.
Founded in 1970 by Royal Charter, the institution was established through the vision of Prince El Hassan bin Talal and the late King Hussein bin Talal to support Jordan’s development through science, engineering, and innovation.
The organization is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit multidisciplinary science institution that provides:
- Scientific research and development
- Laboratory testing and certification
- Engineering consultancy
- ICT and technology services
- Training and innovation programs.
Today the RSS works with government agencies, universities, and private industry to deliver technical expertise and policy advice that supports economic development, environmental protection, and technological advancement.
The institution is currently led by Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, who is internationally recognized for promoting science, technology, and innovation.
RSS operates multiple research centers and accredited laboratories and employs hundreds of scientists, engineers, and specialists working across fields such as energy, environment, ICT, engineering, agriculture, and industrial testing.
